Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing
Support and therapy sessions to help young people build resilience, improve mental strength, and build positive connections.
There’s loads of things to get involved in at the YI Youth Project and throughout the week we run different projects and groups where you’ll find a safe, inclusive place to be to have fun, learn new skills and meet new friends.

Here's what they tell us:

Our groups evolve each year, offering tailored support such as LGBTQ+groups, ASN & ND groups, art classes, or gaming sessions, based on the needs of our young people and available funding. Contact us to find out more about our current groups.
We are open during school holidays and offer youth camps for children and up from p.5 onwards. We organise exciting days out, from biking on Millport to museum visits, and activism marches to give our young people the chance to explore new places, learn about history and different cultures, and engage with social causes.
Our project addresses gender stereotypes and educates against all violence against women/girls. Driven by young people, all activities are co-produced. In our group with young people we discuss a range of relevant topics facilitating learning, understanding, driving positive change and developing a bank of resources. This truly is a place of youth activism at its best.

Young people build lasting friendships, improving their social skills and reducing feelings of isolation.
Through activities and mentorship, young people develop new interests, boost self-esteem, and gain a sense of accomplishment.
The safe, supportive environment at YI helps young people navigate challenges, offering mental health support and fostering emotional resilience.
