Youth & Family Drug and Alcohol Support

Youth Inspired is a dedicated service funded by the Corra Foundation and Renfrewshire Alcohol & Drug Partnership (ADP), providing specialist, confidential support for young people and families affected by drug and alcohol use.

Whether you are looking for help with your own substance use, or struggling because of a family member's, we are here for you - and when we can, we take a Whole Family Approach, ensuring that no one has to walk their recovery journey alone.

Specialists in Adolescent Development

We specialise in working with the unique developmental stage of adolescence. The teenage and young adult years are a time of rapid neurological, emotional, and social change.

Because the adolescent brain and identity are still evolving, standard adult recovery models do not work for young people. Our team is specifically trained to understand adolescent risk-taking, peer influence, and identity formation. We tailor every conversation, therapy session, and boundary to fit this specific life stage, ensuring our support is developmentally appropriate, impactful, and safe.

Why Specialised Youth Support Matters

Young people face distinct challenges that require a completely different approach to adult services. Specialised youth support matters because:

  • Early Intervention Prevents Long-Term Harm: Addressing substance use early disrupts patterns before they carry into adulthood, protecting vital brain development.
  • Adult Services Do Not Fit: Traditional recovery programs often fail young people because they do not account for school, peer pressure, or lack of independent living.
  • Breaking Generational Cycles: By supporting young people affected by family substance use, we break the cycle of trauma and addiction for the next generation.
  • Building Identity Beyond Substance Use: Adolescence is about figuring out who you are. We help young people build a positive self-image, resilience, and life skills separate from substances.
  • Navigating Vulnerability Safely: Teenagers are highly susceptible to exploitation and mental health crises. Specialised youth workers spot these risks early and provide immediate protection.
